WalkABit: Get Involved

WALKABIT

What we work towards

The DoRBit Foundation NGO primarily strives to impart high-grade education to underprivileged children and to provide the necessary infrastructure to needy schools.

We also partner with corporate workplaces, collaborating with their CSR teams, acquiring funds and volunteers to organise and execute social projects.

What we’ve achieved

  • The Your Guide program’s teaching project has been introduced in various government schools across Pune, touching the lives of 2000+ underprivileged students across India.

  • Library setup in 2 schools so far benefitting 1000+ students in Pune.

  • Garnered the support for over 20,000 students and provided them school uniforms, school bags, stationeries, school supplies, devices etc. across India

  • Aided more than 50 families in Maharashtra with ration kits during Covid when they were not having any employment for their bread and butter.

  • Clothes donation drive for 100+ labourers’ families in Bhoirwadi village of Pune.

WALKATHON on September 17, 2022

What have we planned?

We plan on organising a 5 km walkathon, on the 17th of September, with a starting point in the Maan village and a finish line in the Bhoirwadi village (both in the Mulshi Taluka) of Pune.

We also plan on taking brief breaks at few government schools that we have been associated with for several years, en route to the finish line, to glance over how the DoRBit foundation has contributed to their development over the years and how you could join hands to volunteer with us, to help these schools and their student’s blossom!

Who can join us?

ANYONE from ANYWHERE can participate in the walkathon! as its a global event where person can walk from his or her own location and support the cause.

We’d deeply appreciate if you could spread the word about the walkathon among your friends, family, and acquaintances.

How will we make this work?

People interested in participating with us for the walkathon would first need to register themselves for the event by filling out a Google form using below given link to register.

The registration is free of cost and only needs you to pledge to Do Your Bit!

Registered participants would walk to raise funds for one of the several projects that the DoRBit foundation aims to fulfil.

Fund raiser

All registered participants will be required to share a fundraiser link with their friends and family, requesting them to try and donate a small amount to support the participant in raising funds for one mission the DoRBit family is undertaking.

Post the event, we will Do our Bit to help the schools we work with, and take our projects forward.

What projects are we working towards?

  1. Your Career - Wholistic aid to deserving underprivileged students towards higher/ professional education

  2. Your Book - End to end set up of school libraries

  3. Help Mahatma Phule Apang Prashikshan Kendra with teaching/ learning/ mobility aids

  4. Enhance infrastructure at ZP/ government schools

Lastly, what purposes does the walkathon serve?

The walkathon is being held to direct attention towards the challenges faced by schools and their students.

It’ll also make the participants aware of the steps that the DoRBit foundation is taking towards their betterment and to encourage volunteership among the participants.

Principally, we hope that the walkathon’s fundraising will fulfil some of our monetary requirements, helping our projects soar.

YOUR CAREER

Sponsor education fee for brilliant students who are from financially weak family background.

Approx. 28K INR per student per year

We shortlist deserving students and get them admitted in good schools and colleges as per their career aspirations.

We mainly contribute for their tuition/yearly fee and also onboard their parents to pay some part of it to make them also accountable and responsible.

Based on our journey so far, we have identified few schools/colleges where they can easily ramp up and settle down progressively.
